Community Development Block Grant Program
Each year the City of Wauwatosa receives assistance from the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD) in the form of Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds. The primary objective of the CDBG program is the development of viable urban communities by providing opportunities for decent housing, a safe living environment, and expanded economic opportunities to, principally, low or moderate income persons.

CDBG 2010 Application
In anticipation of potential Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding for 2010, the City of Wauwatosa has reviewed and approved applications for CDBG-eligible projects for the 2010 program year. The 2010 CDBG funding cycle is now completed and applications for the 2011 program year will be solicited in August, 2010. If you or your organization is interested in receiving a community development block grant, completed applications can be submtted to the Department of Community Development. Should you have any questions about the CDBG program, please contact the Wauwatosa Department of Community Development at 414.479.3522. Applications are available from the Department of Community Development - Projects must serve low/moderate income Wauwatosa residents.
CDBG for Wauwatosa Businesses
The City of Wauwatosa will be providing Federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds to businesses for the generation of new employment in the community at the beginning of the 2010 year. CDBG funds can be used for building improvements by property owners or business owners leasing space. Although CDBG is a useful funding mechanism for many businesses, there are several important program requirements that should be considered before determining if CDBG is appropriate for your project.
