Overview
The Department of Community Development is responsible for the administration of the Wauwatosa zoning code and regulating overall development within the City of Wauwatosa. This is partly accomplished through classifying and review of Special Uses, Conditional Uses, Zoning Amendments, Planned Developments and Land Divisions. |
| Conditional Use Permit |
Conditional Use permits are required for such uses as: eating or drinking places, massage therapy businesses, gas stations, banks, and other uses.
| Land Divisions |
There are two types of land divisions: a land division/subdivision and a Certified Survey land division.

| Planned Developments |
Planned Developments are intended to permit developments for specialized purposes on certain tracts where traditional zoning districts would not allow for such development.
| Rezoning |
There are two types of re-zonings: a zoning map amendment and an amendment to the city zoning code.

| Special Use Permit |
Special Use permits are required for businesses such as veterinary clinics and other pet related businesses, dry cleaners, and other uses.
