Community Development Overview of Services

The Department of Community Development is comprised of two divisions: Building and Safety and City Planning. The main function of the Department of Community Development is to regulate development within the City of Wauwatosa. This is accomplished through management of the city's building and zoning codes, building inspections, and the use of good and sound planning practices.

Building and Safety Division
The Building and Safety Division provides comprehensive property inspection and property maintenance services. This division oversees the entire construction permit process for residential and commercial properties.
