The Milwaukee Water Works treats their water with low levels of fluoride to prevent tooth decay. As the City of Wauwatosa receives their water from Milwaukee, there is fluoride in water provided through the Wauwatosa Water Utility.

You can find more information about fluoridation on the web sites of the Department of Health and Human Services, the Centers for Disease Control, and the Milwaukee Health Department. Fluoridation of water has been endorsed and affirmed by the American Dental Association, the American Medical Association, and the U.S. Public Health Service.

The fluoride level in water from the Milwaukee Water works does not exceed 0.7 milligrams per liter and conforms to regulations. According to the Centers for Disease Control, the proper amount of fluoride helps prevent tooth decay and cavities for individuals of all ages.
