The Wauwatosa Civic Celebration Commission invites residents of all ages to attend this year’s Memorial Day Observance at 9 a.m. on Monday, May 25 at the Muellner Building in Hart Park.
This year’s ceremony will be held in a newly enhanced event setting at Hart Park, one of Wauwatosa’s central gathering spaces for community events, recreation, and reflection.
Memorial Day in Wauwatosa is more than a ceremony; it is a community tradition. Families, veterans, students, and neighbors are encouraged to attend as we honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation. The observance is designed to be accessible and meaningful for all ages, offering a space for reflection, education, and connection.
“As a community, Memorial Day is a time to come together, not only to remember those we have lost, but to share their legacy with the next generation,” said Michael Anich, event organizer. “This observance ensures that their sacrifice is honored and never forgotten.”
The ceremony will feature remarks from local leaders, moments of remembrance, and a keynote address from Timothy Finnerty. Attendees will also have the opportunity to meet members of the Wauwatosa Veterans Memorial Committee and learn more about the new site for the Wauwatosa Veterans Memorial.
