North Avenue Road Work
We will be starting road work along North Avenue from N. 118th Street to N. Mayfair Road. We anticipate starting this project the week of June 11, and it will last until mid-July. During construction North Avenue will be reduced to a single lane in each direction.
The project includes resurfacing the roadway and updating the curb ramps. This section of North Avenue was originally constructed in 1958 and resurfaced in 1988.
Work was scheduled for this section as part of the Zoo Interchange North Leg work. That work has since been delayed by the state of Wisconsin. In the interim we will be milling and resurfacing the area from N. 118th St. to N. 114th St. and from the Northbound I-41 ramp to Mayfair Road. The Wisconsin Department of Transportation will be resurfacing the area from N. 114th St. to the Northbound I-41 ramp this summer as well. These projects are intended to improve the ride on this section of North Ave. until the state of Wisconsin reschedules the Zoo Interchange work.
We thank you for your patience as we make these necessary improvements to our infrastructure. We’d like to remind all of our neighbors of the importance of driving safely, looking out for pedestrians and construction workers, and being aware of your surroundings when near a construction zone.
