Tosa Green Summit: September 8
How to go green in Wauwatosa
A change in season is a time for residents to reaffirm their commitment to a green lifestyle. On Saturday, September 8, you are invited to join us at City Hall for the 2018 Tosa Green Summit, a free informational open house with exhibits on all things that bring environmental health and sustainability. Exhibits are open 10 am to 1 pm in the Lower Civic Center, and will feature everything from recycling to water health—from gardening to clean energy.
In addition to the exhibits indoors, Wauwatosa Crime Stoppers, the Wauwatosa Health Department, MMSD, and Dream Bikes are partnering up to offer a recycling collection from 8 am to 1 pm in the City Hall parking lot. This includes:
- Shredding (limit 3 bags/boxes)
- Medicine (no liquids or inhalers)
- Electronics (no TVs or computer monitors)
- Household hazardous waste
“For nearly ten years, Wauwatosa Health Department has partnered to offer an annual prescription drug collection event for residents,” says Laura Conklin, City of Wauwatosa Health Officer.
“Unused or expired prescription medications are a public health issue, leading to potential accidental poisoning, misuse and overdose. Proper disposal of unused drugs saves lives and protects the environment. We are excited to once again participate in this important event.”
We hope to see you there on September 8 to take advantage of this great opportunity to learn and dispose of waste responsibly.
