Next Phase: Reconstructing Streets

Post Date:08/13/2018 3:39 PM

curb workWe are on track to complete road reconstruction of Underwood Avenue south of Warren Avenue. You'll see final marking and lighting next week.

Water main installation is complete, so the significant digging is done on streets. The next phase is reconstructing streets. This week, the week of August 13, you will see us laying concrete, curbs and gutter. The intersection of Woodland and Pleasant will be closed for several days for this work, with the intersection of Woodland and Forest St. to follow. We'll lay concrete on Woodland over the next several weeks, starting from the west, moving east.

Remember that concrete needs to cure for at least 7 days before you drive on it, so do not drive on the street until the contractor removes tape or barricades from the newly poured concrete.

During the week of August 20, we are tentatively scheduled to restore asphalt on the 1800 and 1900 blocks of Underwood Avenue.

A reminder about sod: we sent a letter to you about how to care for your sod. Our contractor waters your sod for the first 10 days, and then you are responsible to continue watering the sod.
