2018 TosaLife Photo Contest Winners Announced!
Thanks for another great year of the photo contest! The results are in, and the winners are...
We want to thank every one that participated in this year's TosaLife Photo Contest. We received 168 fantastic photos this year, and gathered a total of 1,050 votes for the popular vote category.
Despite the high quality of the photos, there can be only a few winners in the end. The four winners of this years contest will receive a "swag bag" provided by Firefly Real Estate with gift cards to Tosa businesses, t-shirts, and a few other goodies.
Your winners are:
KC Sattler - "Backyard Beauty"
It takes patience and vision to grab a shot like this, and it seems that your peers agreed that this one was a keeper! With 94 votes, "Backyard Beauty" by KC Sattler stole the show as the winner of the popular vote.
Jason Williams - "North Ave Blur"
It's hard to look at this photo and not appreciate the deep color contrast between the deep blue of Rocket Baby Bakery and the red and white glow of the 69th Street Pedestrian Plaza which was opened earlier this year. Couple that with green tree canopy above and the blur of passing cars, and you've got one great photo. "North Ave Blur" by Jason Williams is the winner of our Cityscapes category.
Ann Rovito - "Morning Run"
Few urbanites can say they have a view like this on their morning run. The basin and its tendency to gather a deep fog lends itself to some great photo opportunities. Both pensive and bright, Ann Rovito's "Morning Run" took our breath away.
Community Engagement & Special Events
Gary Koch - "Leading the East Tosa Gran Prix
Last, but certainly not least, is a shot of one of the most beloved events in Tosa all year--the East Tosa Gran Prix. "Leading the East Tosa Gran Prix" by Gary Koch, the winner of the Community Engagement & Special Events category, captures not only the competitive spirit of the racers, but some of those beautiful bike lanes on North Ave and many of the spectators at this great event.
Thank you for participating!
We want to thank every single of the participants in this year's photo contest. You can bet that you'll see more of the photos you submitted over the next year on our website, social media, city publications and more. This is one of our favorite events every year, and we can't wait to see what you'll bring next year.
