Final Pavement on Streets Near the Village
See progress on construction and what to anticipate in the next two weeks
We’d like to provide an update of construction in the Village and what to anticipate in the next two weeks:
State St. from 68th to 74th
The sidewalk on the south side and electrical work (such as light pole bases) is nearly complete. You can now walk all down State St. on the new concrete sidewalk, or on temporary asphalt sidewalk in some areas where underground work continues. Now our work shifts to the north side. You’ll see us pouring the sidewalk on the north side in the next two weeks from 68th to 74th.
You might have noticed that Hart Park Lane (the parking lane directly north of the stadium and tennis courts) is now closed for resurfacing. This area will be closed for several weeks as we resurface it. Be mindful of this construction area as you go to events or exercise in Hart Park. See all parking available in the Village.
Also, many people have contacted us about the water feature in front of the pedestrian bridge. The repair is being done by a 3rd party contractor, and unfortunately they are very behind schedule and waiting on new stone pieces to arrive. This happens when a contractor overcommits to a project. Thanks for your patience. We’re pushing to see progress on this feature.
If you’re in the Village next Saturday, check out the Harvest Festival from 12-6pm. This event will close only a block of State Street between Wauwatosa Ave and Harwood Ave.
Wauwatosa & Harwood, Underwood & Harmonee Paving
Final pavement! We just completed the final pavement on streets near Wauwatosa Avenue & Harwood as well as Harmonee & Underwood. In the next 2-4 weeks, you’ll notice us putting pavement markings on these streets. It’s possible that a lane will be pushed over, but this won’t be disruptive to traffic, and will most likely occur between 9am-3pm work hours.
