Police, Fire, community partners train at Milwaukee Regional Medical Center
Wauwatosa Fire and Police departments trained at the Milwaukee Regional Medical Center (MMRC) in collaboration with other municipal response teams, the Medical Campus staff, a SWAT team, and community partners. Local media was also invited to observe training.
Their day-long training consists of multiple scenarios, and each participating group has objectives to meet. The Fire Department measures response time and communications, for example. The MMRC tests their internal emergency alert system to notify those on campus of a developing situation.
This particular training took place at the Milwaukee County Behavioral Health building, and they simulated a mock school shooting. Volunteers played the part of victims who were suffering from different injuries, and first responders reacted in real time.
Our first responders train throughout the year and for a variety of situations to keep our community safe.
