Great things are always happening in Tosa. Each month we highlight our favorites.

Here are three great things in Tosa this October:

  1. The Village Reconstruction project has been a significant project over the past few years. This year specifically we are working on reconstructing State Street from 68th to 74th St. This involves replacing 100-year-old infrastructure, building a new sidewalk on the south side of the street, and creating a new pedestrian crossing at 74th St. In a few days, we lay the final pavement on State St., giving you a much smoother ride and one day closer to the end of this big project. Read more about the milestones of this project.
  2. The flu is an epidemic every year, and its peak time starts in November. Our Health Department held a flu clinic in October and will hold another one on November 15, 3 - 5:30 pm at City Hall. Get your flu shot to stay healthy and keep those around you healthy.
  3. The Fall edition of the City Newsletter was published. The cover story is about a tax issue that could mean as much as a 7% tax increase for residents. We strongly oppose this increase. We are encouraging state representatives to close this "Dark Store Loophole," so that residents and small businesses don't have to pay more taxes.
