Hiring Temporary Crossing Guards

We are in need of crossing guards for the remainder of the 2019 school year.
Post Date:03/29/2019 6:30 AM

Wisconsin Personal Protection Services, WPPS, the company used for crossing guard services in Wauwatosa, has unexpectedly gone out of business.

The city has filled the majority of the crossing guard positions. At this time we anticipate being unable to staff the following locations. We are still looking to hire or fill these vacancies with volunteers for the remainder of the school year.

  • Mayfair Road and Center Street
  • Glendale Avenue and 100th St (afternoons only)
  • Ruby and 100th Street (afternoons only)
  • 88th and North Avenue (afternoons only)

Do you have a limited schedule, but could help occasionally? We would love to have you. Applicants must be able to pass a background check. Please call Human Resources (414) 479-8954 to talk about next steps.

The city has bid out crossing guard services for the 2019/2020 school year. We will have a new firm in place for next year. In the interim, we will be attempting to hire either the existing guards or other members of the community to help.
