Proposed Murals to Create Art Corridor from Milwaukee to Wauwatosa
A number of exterior walls in East Tosa will be transformed into large murals
Later in 2019, a number of exterior walls in East Tosa will be transformed into large murals. The grouping of walls will be within walking distance of each other, so visitors can explore the city, discover nearby businesses, and pose with the murals.
The Wauwatosa Tourism Commission is creating this mural district to enhance tourism in the city.
The commission will be working with the same group who created the Black Cat Alley in Milwaukee. Black Cat Alley is an award-winning outdoor art gallery on the East Side and one of the most visited destinations in Milwaukee.
The public art projects are tourism initiatives funded through hotel/motel tax revenue, not property tax dollars.
