Wauwatosa Avenue Construction Continues

Post Date:04/13/2020 9:26 AM

The construction crew continues work on the water main on Wauwatosa Avenue. This water main was installed in 1898 and 1902 and is near the end of its useful life.

A second crew continues working on storm sewers on Rogers Avenue toward Wauwatosa Ave and will turn to head north on Wauwatosa Avenue with storm sewer work. The larger storm sewer pipes help manage storm water.

Looking ahead, the contractor is anticipating working near the intersection of Milwaukee and Wauwatosa Avenue to connect the new water main in the next couple of weeks. The traffic lights at this intersection are flashing red for most of the duration of the entire project. When this water main work happens, there will be impact to the intersection’s traffic flow. The intersection of Milwaukee Ave and Wauwatosa Ave is expected to remain open and will have a traffic flagger while the work takes place.
