an aerial image of Milwaukee County Research parkThe City of Wauwatosa and Irgens continue to move forward on a joint master planning agreement initiated in March 2025 to guide the future of the Milwaukee County Research Park. The study aims to create a more connected, welcoming, and economically diverse district by planning for future infrastructure, land use, and public amenities.

As part of the planning process, the project team is reviewing current infrastructure, including roads, utilities, stormwater systems, and multimodal transportation connections, while also identifying new opportunities to add shared amenities, improve mobility, and support future development. The effort will evaluate how the district can better integrate with neighboring community assets, including Wisconsin Avenue Park.

“This is a thriving area for Wauwatosa, and we’re excited to build on its momentum," said Development Director Mark Hammond. "With its proximity to the Medical Campus, convenient access to freeways, and a strong network of notable employers, walking paths, and public amenities, the placemaking opportunity is tremendous. This planning effort will help us shape a vibrant, mixed-use district that will serve our community for decades to come."

Upcoming Public Engagement Opportunities

The City and Irgens invite stakeholders, Research Park employees, and the public to participate in upcoming engagement activities to help shape the area’s future.
