Nevarez brings extensive experience in municipal government, court administration, human resources, and customer service. Most recently, she served as the Court Administrator for the City of Beloit, where she oversaw daily municipal court operations, managed the annual court budget, led process improvements including online payment and electronic filing systems, and strengthened community partnerships to expand access to justice.

Before her administrator role, Nevarez worked as a Human Resources Assistant and Court Clerk in Beloit, supporting recruitment, onboarding, staff development, records compliance, and customer-facing court functions. She began her career in the legal field working as a legal assistant and has held roles in financial services and insurance operations.

Nevarez holds a Master of Public Administration from Northern Illinois University (May 2025) and a Bachelor of Arts in Justice from Mount Mary University. She is a State of Wisconsin Notary Public and a bilingual Spanish speaker.

As City Clerk, Nevarez will oversee Wauwatosa’s elections involving over 31,000 registered voters, manage agendas and minutes, oversee licensing and permits, maintain city records, and support transparency and legislative processes. The role requires a demonstrated commitment to public service, election management, customer experience, and operational efficiency.

“I am really excited to jump in as Wauwatosa’s City Clerk! I look forward to learning more about how the city functions, supporting transparency and community engagement and being part of the great work that is helping Wauwatosa move forward,” said Nevarez, when asked about what she is looking forward to the most.
