Beginning on December 1, 2018, candidates may circulate nomination papers for the one-year period remaining on the term for the Fourth District Alderperson position expiring on April 21, 2020.
Former Alderman Dennis McBride resigned from this position in January 2018. Ernst-Ulrich Franzen was appointed on February 20, 2018 to replace Mr. McBride until the April 2019 Spring Election. The incumbent must file necessary paperwork if he wishes to run for the balance of this term. This seat will again be on the April 7, 2020 ballot for a full four-year term.
Qualifications at the time of the election are as follows:
- United States and State of Wisconsin citizen
- Elector of the City of Wauwatosa
- Elector of the Fourth Aldermanic District, and actually residing therein
The pay is $450 per month.
Alderperson are expected to regularly attend Common Council and Council Committee meetings, as well as other meetings for committees to which the official may be appointed.
