We have several financial assistance programs available to businesses and commercial property owners in Wauwatosa. There is one program open to non-profits in Wauwatosa.

Façade, Signage, and Code Compliance Forgivable Loans

These smaller sized loans to improve building facades and signage and undertake updates for building code compliance are forgivable over a 5-year period.

Wauwatosa Revolving Loan Fund

The Wauwatosa Revolving Loan Fund Corporation provides gap financing for businesses opening or expanding in the city, structuring a loan in way to best meet the business's needs.

Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Business Loan Program

These federal loan funds are available to new or expanding businesses that create jobs meeting federal program requirements.  Funds can be used for acquisition, limited equipment purchase and building renovations.

EPA Brownfield Assessment Grant Funding

Assessment funds provide due diligence activities such as Phase I and II assessment reports for existing or potential property owners who need to determine the extent of any environmental contamination on their property.

Tax Incremental Financing

The Tax Incremental Finance Law (TIF) was approved by the Wisconsin Legislature as an economic development tool that municipalities can employ to promote tax base expansion by using property tax revenues for specifically defined purposes.

Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program

The primary objective of the CDBG program is the development of viable urban communities by providing opportunities for decent housing, a safe living environment, and expanded economic opportunities to principally low or moderate income persons.
