Parking Tickets

Parking in Wauwatosa is regulated by the Municipal Code and the Police Department actively enforces the parking regulations. A person driving and parking on Wauwatosa streets is assumed to be aware of the parking regulations, including that overnight parking is not permitted between 3:00 and 6:00 a.m. without prior permission from the Police Department.

Disputing a Parking Ticket

A party seeking to contest a parking ticket must request a review from the Police Department within 28 days of receiving the ticket. If the defendant does not agree with the determination from the Police Department after its review, they may request a hearing in Municipal Court within 2-weeks of the review. The Court will assign a date for you to appear. During the pendency of any Police Department review or the Municipal Court decision, all late fees will be put on hold and a vehicle's registration will not be suspended.

For more information about parking tickets contact the Police Department at (414) 471-8430.
