2025 Leaf Collection Updates

  • Thank you for your patience. This has been one of our most challenging leaf seasons that necessitated shifting between leaf and snow operations, which is demanding on both staff and equipment. This is because we use the same staff and some of the same equipment for both leaf and snow operations.
  • The 2025 final rake out date has passed. Please do not add to any piles at the curbs. We are finishing collecting large piles across the city with an estimated completion date of January 2nd. Please contact Public Works with any questions you have related to the completion of 2025 leaf collection.
  • Because of snow, cold temperatures, and how our equipment is used seasonally, we are unable to offer additional rake out services. We’ll assess conditions as spring approaches and will share any updates about spring yard waste collection.
  • Should you have any leaves you would like to dispose of ahead of the start of 2026 Yard Waste collection, the City is offering free use of the Drop Off Center for yard waste now through April 25, 2026.

When is Fall Leaf Collection?

  • We pick up leaves and soft plant material at the curb for all residential properties in Wauwatosa.
  • You may begin raking leaves out to the street as early as Monday, October 13, 2025.
  • Check our interactive leaf collection map to see the schedule.
  • Final leaf collection will begin on Monday, December 1, 2025.  The actual collection date will vary depending on where you live and weather conditions. Check the map for your neighborhood’s specific collection date.

Disposal of branches or other woody yard material:

  • We don't collect it at the curb during leaf collection.
  • You can bring it to the Drop Off Center for $5 per load charge.
  • Arrange for a Special Collection at your curb for a fee.

Roadwork & Leaf Collection

If we are paving or doing road work on your street, please do not rake leaves into the street until the final coat of asphalt has been applied. Call us with questions at (414) 471-8422.
