Water Service Lateral Insurance
It has come to our attention that some insurance companies have been mailing flyers out to some City of Wauwatosa property owners. The flyers describe how the customers are responsible for the repair of their water service laterals. The company proposes to provide repair or replacement coverage for leaking or broken water service laterals.
Property owners are responsible for their water service lateral from the curb stop valve outside (typically near the right of way line) into their house and past the water meter. Property owners are encouraged to check with their insurance company to see if repairs are already covered. Also, property owners considering coverage should carefully read the proposed terms of service coverage for what is actually covered.
We do not endorse any insurance company and are not affiliated in any way with these insurance companies nor their programs.
